(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana is continuing to use an age-based strategy to rollout the COVID-19 vaccine to its residents.
According to the Indiana State Department of Health, Hoosiers ages 40-44 are eligible to receive the vaccine as of March 22. Indiana has used a stairstep approach to its vaccination rollout since doses became available in December, starting with the oldest and most at-risk population.
Since December, the state has steadily added more Hoosiers to the eligibility list with the hope that the vaccine will be available to all Hoosiers ages 16 and up by May.
Until then, those 40 and older, healthcare workers, first responders, teachers and school staff, pregnant women, and Specific groups of patients at highest risk of severe illness from COVID-19 who are identified by their healthcare provider are eligible to receive the vaccine.
Hoosiers can schedule an appointment at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
There are nearly 400 vaccination sites in the state, but if you're having trouble finding an appointment try one of the below sites near you.
