The work will be done just north of U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation officials met with contractor representatives this week (JAN 30) at Seymour District offices to discuss operations for overlaying bridge decks on twin Interstate 275 structures located 1.34 miles north of U.S. Highway 50 at Lawrenceburg. Work is scheduled to begin on or after April 1.

Dave O’Mara Contractor, of North Vernon, will hydro-demolish the current driving surface atop 3-span 146-foot-long twin bridges that overpass Action Lane, an access road just north of Belleview Drive, and replace them with 2½-inch-thick concrete deck overlays. This $1,744,288 bridge project includes new concrete bridge rails, approach slabs and guardrail.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane on both northbound and southbound I-275 bridges. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

The contract completion date is October 31.

I-275 has a traffic count of 16,110 vehicles per day.
