Independence Man Sentenced To 16 Years For Distributing Child Pornography

Michael Clark was sentenced on Tuesday, June 23.

(Covington, Ky.) - An Independence man was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison on Tuesday for distributing child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky, Michael Clark, 49, distributed child pornography, on five different occasions, to a law enforcement officer using a peer-to-peer file-sharing network called BitTorrent

In April 2018, a search warrant was executed at Clark's residence where the child pornography was found on his computer through a forensic examination.

Over a year later, the 49-year-old was convicted by a federal jury this past September.

Under federal law, Clark will serve 85 percent of the prison sentence and will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for 20 years once he is released.
