INDOT Restricts Use Of Bridge

(Franklin County, Ind.) - A local bridge on U.S. 52 has a new restriction which will keep most trucks and school buses off of it.

The Indiana Department of Transportation has placed a 15 ton weight limit restriction on the U.S. 52 Yellow Bank Creek Bridge near Brookville. The decision came after a recent bi-annual inspection including a structural analysis of the bridge.

Signs displaying “Weight Limit 15 Tons” are posted on both sides of the bridge.

The reinforced concrete arch bridge was originally constructed in 1929. It is scheduled for replacement in 2017.
