(Carrollton, Ky.) – One person suffered a gunshot wound to the neck following a verbal altercation in Carroll County.
Kentucky State Police were contacted on Wednesday to investigate the shooting.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Coda Jumper and Jerry Fisher were involved in a verbal altercation. As the altercation escalated, Jumper allegedly brandished a gun and shot Fisher in the neck.
Fisher was airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital. His current condition is unknown.
As for Jumper, he fled the scene and was later located and taken into custody. The 23-year-old is charged with Assault 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.
Jumper is held in the Carroll County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
