Kentucky State Police Make Arrest After Stolen Vehicle Flees

The arrest was made in Carroll County.

(Carrollton, Ky.) - A Tennessee man has been arrested after fleeing from law enforcement in a stolen vehicle. 

Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received information regarding the stolen vehicle on Friday, July 28. 

KSP Post 5 Troopers were able to observe the reported vehicle on Interstate 71 in Carroll County. After successfully deploying a tire deflation device, the vehicle continued to travel for approximately two to three miles before the driver exited the vehicle and continued to flee on foot into a wooded area.

The driver, identified as Robert Kidd, 20, of Jackson, Tennessee, was taken into custody a short time later without further incident. 

Kidd is charged with  Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree(Motor Vehicle), Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree(On Foot), Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree, Speeding 26 MPH or Greater than Speed Limit(Limited Access), Resisting Arrest  -Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or More, Possession of Marijuana(Enhancement), Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess and Possession of a Handgun By Convicted Felon. 

Kidd was transported to and lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.  

The investigation is ongoing.
