Two men from Louisville, Ky. and Bennington, Ind. are dead after the early morning shooting on Main Street.

(Warsaw, Ky.) - Kentucky State Police have identified two men shot to death in Warsaw Monday morning.

Investigators believe the shooting in the 200 block of Main Street in downtown Warsaw was a murder-suicide.

Gallatin County Sheriff Josh Neale was the first on scene at around 5:00 a.m., when Treigh Monroe, 35, of Louisville, was holding Dwight Wesley, 54, of Bennington, Indiana, at gunpoint.

When negotiations broke down, Monroe shot Wesley. Police say Monroe then turned the gun on himself and fired again.

Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene. Wesley was rushed to a Carroll County Memorial Hospital where he died.

Events leading up to the shooting have not been released as the investigation continues. Autopsies on both men’s bodies are scheduled with the Louisville Medical Examiner’s Office.
