Lawrenceburg Fire, Other Agencies Respond to Water Rescue Call

Responders found a vehicle with two passengers in a creek near Shale Road.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Multiple agencies received an early wakeup call on Thursday morning for a water rescue.

Lawrenceburg Fire and EMS, Dearborn County Sheriff's Office, and Dearborn County Water Rescue, among others responded to a vehicle taking on water in a creek around 1:55 a.m.

The incident took place on Shale Road near Leatherwood Creek.

Upon arrival, crews found one victim on the bank, while another victim remained on top of the vehicle.

Rescue 4 deployed one boat with technicians to retrieve the remaining victim.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. The names of those involved were not released.

Miller York Fire and Manchester Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
