Lawrenceburg Main Street Says Business, Property Grants Are Available

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg Main Street is pleased to announce that the Lawrenceburg Redevelopment Commission (LRC) has once again funded its LRC Grant Investment Program for 2019.  This Investment Program consists of grant opportunities for small business owners and commercial property owners located within the Downtown District, as well as for residents living within the Corporate City Limits.  Lawrenceburg Main Street, Inc. will continue to administer the program.

If you are looking to make exterior improvements to your home this spring, or are a property owner in the Downtown District wishing to enhance the exterior of your commercial façade or add signage, we encourage you to consider exploring the grants available through this Investment Program.  Grants are also for new businesses or existing businesses in the Downtown District.

Grants available through the LRC Investment Program include:

 

Commercial Property Paint & Façade Improvements

The grant program is intended to increase the curb appeal, and possibly the functionality, of commercial properties located within the Downtown District. The grant will provide $2 for every $1 spent by the grant recipient, up to a maximum of $5,000. Permitted projects range from paint and related expenses, doors, windows, roofs, gutters, and façade restoration.

 

Commercial Sign & Awning

The purpose of the Sign & Awning grant is to increase the awareness and appearance of commercial properties located within the Downtown District. The grant will provide $3 for every $1 spent by the grant recipient, up to a maximum of $3,000. Permitted projects include new or refurbished signage, and new or recovered awnings.

 

Commercial Blade Sign

Like the Sign & Awning grant, the Commercial Blade Sign program is in place with the intention to increase pedestrian awareness of the business, as well as to enhance the overall look and professionalism of the location and business. The grant will provide $2 for every $1 spent by the grant recipient, up to a maximum of $2,500.

 

New Business Small Business Action Grant

The goal of this grant is to enhance the economic vitality of the Downtown business and entertainment district. This grant is focused on the recruitment of retail, restaurant, and specialty shops choosing to locate within the Downtown District. The grant will provide $1 for every $1 spent by the grant recipient, up to a maximum of $7,500. Permitted grant expenditures include the purchase of necessary equipment, needed interior physical improvements to accommodate the business, and appropriate professional services and labor.

 

Existing Business Small Business Action Grant

The goal of this grant is to enhance the economic vitality of the Downtown business and entertainment district by supporting the growth and enhancement of existing businesses located within the Downtown District. The grant will provide $1 for every $1 spent by the grant recipient, up to a maximum of $7,500. Permitted grant expenditures include the purchase of necessary equipment, needed interior physical improvements to accommodate the business, and appropriate professional services and labor

 

Residential Property Paint & Façade Improvements

The intention of this grant is to increase the curb appeal of owner-occupied residences located within the Corporate City Limits. The grant will provide $2 for every $1 spent by the grant recipient, up to a maximum of $5,000. Permitted projects include paint and related expenses, new and replacement siding, doors, windows, storm door replacement, gutters, front porch repair, and front fence repair.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis (until allocated funds are exhausted), and are reviewed on a monthly basis by the Lawrenceburg Main Street Design or Economic Vitality Committees and Board of Directors.
