(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A former pediatrician is facing several drug-related charges in Dearborn County.
Chad Alan Hargrove, 33, of Lawrenceburg, is accused of dealing a large number of illegal drugs from his home in Hidden Valley.
On October 16, U.S. Postal Inspectors came across packaged addressed to a “Mike Wolfe”. Inspectors later learned that the box was being sent to Hargrove’s home address. The package was coming from a known drug source area in Oregon.
Upon further investigation, the inspector pulled the package for review and called in a narcotics canine. The canine indicated the package obtained the presence of drugs. After obtaining a federal search warrant, the inspector found approximately 900 milliliters of hash oil.
Hargrove accepted the package at his home on October 21. A search warrant was then executed.
According to a probable cause affidavit, police found multiple illegal items, including a large number of empty vape pens, approximately 3,420 grams of “dabs” (a highly concentrated marijuana extract), ecstasy, Psilocybin mushrooms, multiple strips of hallucinogenic drugs commonly known as LSD, methamphetamine, numerous loaded firearms, multiple items used to manufacture and distribute THC and other drugs and over $14,000 in cash.
“Through the investigative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in two states, we were able to find and confiscate a large number of illegal drugs at this home,” Prosecutor Lynn Deddens said. “Thanks to this excellent work, we have prevented further harm to the community by keeping these drugs off our streets.”
Hargrove is charged with two counts of Dealing in a Schedule I Controlled Substance at Least 28 Grams (Level 2 Felony), two counts of Dealing in a Schedule I Controlled Substance with enhancing circumstances (Level 5 Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine enhancing circumstances.
Hargrove is currently held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
