(Ripley County, Ind.) – State Road 129 had to be shut down for over three hours on Tuesday afternoon due to a single-vehicle accident.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash near the intersection of County Road 8000 South around 2:30 p.m.

Deputies say Couto Dasilva Wellington, of New Jersey, was operating a semi pulling a flatbed with two steel coils weighing approximately 20,000 pounds each, when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Wellington was not injured in the accident, but the roadway was shut down for multiple hours while crews removed the vehicle, debris, and coils of steel from the roadway.

The accident remains under investigation.
