(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Londalea Murray, former first grade teacher at Dillsboro Elementary School, was the DCRTA Court of Honor honoree at the Dearborn County Retired Teachers Association get-together held on April 3 in the Greendale Middle School cafeteria. She was awarded a corsage during the ceremony while a number of family, former teaching associates, and friends were present as guests for the ceremony, one coming from as far away as northern Indiana.
Londalea spends much time volunteering at her church, the St. Peters Lutheran Church, where she helps make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She also volunteers at nursing homes in the area. She enjoys being with her family. Her son is continuing his educational tradition as a STEM teacher in Kentucky.
The Dearborn County Retired Teachers Association, an affiliate of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association, holds four get-togethers a year. The next meeting will be June 5 at the Greendale Middle School at 5:00 p.m. All former and active educators and friends are invited and encouraged to attend. A catered dinner and social time precede a short business session. Attendees may contact Marlene Dozier (513-254-1127) or Cathy Mund (812-926-2291) for meal reservations.
