(Greendale, Ind.) – A Cincinnati man is accused of biting off part of another man’s ear at a Greendale hotel.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Quality Inn, 1000 U.S. 50-Eads Parkway, early Sunday morning. The officers found Jacob Kerola bloodied around his face and part of his left ear missing.
According to a court affidavit, Kerola told the deputies he had been in an argument with Donald W. Talbott in a hotel room over who was a better gambler. The argument escalated into a physical altercation in which Talbott bit off his ear.
“A fairly large sized piece of human flesh” was found on the floor of the hotel room, the affidavit stated.
Talbott, 23, is charged with Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Class C felony) and Disorderly Conduct (Class B misdemeanor).
He remains held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center. No bond has been set.
