Man Wanted For Attempted Murder In Custody

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg man accused of attempted murder has been taken into custody. 

Daniel Widener, 45, was arrested late Thursday night in Lawrenceburg by U.S. Marshall's, Indiana State Police, Lawrenceburg Police, Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit and Dearborn County Sheriff's deputies. 

Widener had been at-large since an incident on March 15 where he fled police at a high rate of speed and allegedly attempted to run over a sheriff's deputy. 

He is charged with Attempted Murder, Attempted Resisting Law Enforcement, Attempted Aggravated Battery, and Attempted Criminal Recklessness. 

Widener is scheduled to make an initial hearing in Dearborn County Court on Tuesday.
