The number of patients testing positive for COVID is trending downward.

(Batesville, Ind) – Effective immediately, Margaret Mary Health has lifted some visitor restrictions and will allow adults to visit inpatients and accompany outpatients and those seeking ER care.

Updated visitor guidelines as of June 1 include:

  • Med Surg and Special Care unit patients, including COVID positive patients may have two (2) visitors (visitation for patients with COVID may be limited and additional PPE will be required).
  • Inpatient obstetrics may also have two (2) support people or visitors.
  • Patients visiting our ER, physician practices or outpatient centers, including rehab and cancer, or undergoing outpatient procedures are allowed one (1) support person to accompany them.
  • Pediatric patients (under the age of 18) may have two (2) family members / support people for all circumstances.
  • Patients and support person(s) will continue to be screened by MMH personnel at facility entrances and must pass the screening criteria before being allowed into the facility.
  • Patients and support person(s) are required to wear a mask, that fully covers the mouth and nose, at all times while within MMH facilities.
  • No visitors or support person(s) under the age of 16 will be permitted (including the children of OB patients).

“The number of patients testing positive for COVID continues to trend downward, thankfully, and we’ve had time to evaluate and establish protocols for how we can safely allow visitors for COVID patients in our hospital,” explained Liz Leising, Chief Nursing Officer, Margaret Mary Health. “We understand how important it is for many of our patients to be able to have a support person with them at appointments and family visiting when they are admitted for care. We continue to be diligent in our fight against COVID, but we are pleased to be able to lift most visitation restrictions for our patients and their family members at this time.”
