(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Corbin McHenry used to sit in the stands at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Now, he knows what it is like to be in victory lane.
The 2022 South Dearborn High School graduate won his first race at Lawrenceburg Speedway last Saturday night.
McHenry won the Impact Sports' Pure Stock 15-lap race starting from the inside of row 2. He grabbed the lead on lap 3 and never looked back.
He celebrated the win in victory lane with his dad, Shane McHenry, who became promoter of Lawrenceburg Speedway prior to this season.
South Dearborn Community School Corporation shared their support of Corbin in a social media post that reads, "Congratulations to SDHS class of 2022 graduate, Corbin McHenry, on winning the "Kubota High Limit Racing and Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg - IMPACT SPORTS PURE STOCKS" Feature Race this past Friday, May 31st at the Lawrenceburg Speedway! Corbin started racing pure stock cars just last year and has continued to put in the hard work to become a successful racer. Corbin's dad, Shane McHenry, used to race on the same Lawrenceburg Speedway track, which sparked Corbin's interest to start racing himself. Good luck on the rest of your racing season Corbin!
The Impact Sports Pure Stocks return to Lawrenceburg on Saturday, June 22nd.
