Mother Accused Of Setting Fire In Murder Attempt

(Hidden Valley, Ind.) - A Hidden Valley mother is being accused of intentionally setting her house on fire and leaving her four-year-old child inside.

 

Vanessa Dean had an arrest warrant for Attempted Murder issued against her Thursday.

 

Firefighters were called to Dean’s home at 19323 Alpine Drive in Hidden Valley last October 13 for a reported explosion.

 

Dean got out of the home and was later take to the hospital. A neighbor had to run in and save her son, firefighters said at the day of the fire.

 

According to a court affidavit, Dean told an EMT at the scene that she poured gas around the home and was trying to kill herself and her son, WLWT-TV reported.

 

Dean was not in police custody in Dearborn County as of Friday morning.
