Music on the River is tentatively scheduled to begin July 9.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The City of Lawrenceburg has cancelled all events for May and June, but three significant summer events are a go.
Things could change based on the fluid nature of the COVID-19 situation, but Mayor Kelly Mollaun told Eagle Country 99.3 on Wednesday that the Whiskey City Twilight Challenge, Music on the River and the Whiskey City Summerfest will go on.
Music on the River was set to start on June 11. However, under Governor Holcomb's five-stage "Back on Track" plan, large gatherings such as fairs, festivals, sporting events and concerts won't be permitted until on or after July 4.

Therefore, Music on the River is tentatively set to begin on July 9 and will run through August 27. Mayor Mollaun mentioned that plans are to continue MOTR without concessions, beer garden and split the pot to limit contact with the public.
The Whiskey City Twilight Challenge is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, while the Whiskey City Summerfest takes place on Saturday, August 22, featuring David Lee Murphy, Dallas Moore and House Whiskey.
All events will be free to attend and will go on with proper social distancing in place, but Mayor Mollaun did not go into detail about other safety precautions that might be put in place.
Mayor Mollaun also stated that Fall Fest will take place in the Civic Park, meaning changes are likely to come for the popular event. Further details are forthcoming.
