Nationwide Drug Take Back Event Happens Saturday

There will be plenty of places throughout Eagle Country to drop off unwanted prescription medications.

(Versailles, Ind.) – Get rid of your expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs this weekend.

Indiana State Police have partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for the 20th nationwide Prescription Drug Take Back initiative.

Collection sites will be set up nationwide to help properly dispose of unwanted prescription drugs without threat to the environment. The initiative also addresses a vital public safety and public health issues, such as substance abuse.

The drug take back event will be held on Saturday, April 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Area residents may drop off their unwanted medications at the Indiana State Police – Versailles Post at 902 South Adams Street.

The program is for liquid and pill medications. Vaping pens without batteries and vaping cartridges will also be taken.

Needles, new or used, will not be accepted for disposal.

The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.
