Multiple agencies responded to the fire early Thursday morning.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg firefighters got an early wake up call on Thursday morning.
At approximately 1:23 a.m., Lawrenceburg Fire Department responded to 328 Elm Street for a fire alarm which was quickly upgraded to a structure fire.
Firefighters found smoke coming from the rear of the three-story evacuated apartment building. Crews advanced a hose line to the second floor rear apartment where they encountered heavy smoke and heat coming from the rear bedroom.
The fire was extinguished and all occupants of the apartment were relocated for the night.
A cause of the fire remains under investigation.
