One Injured in Fire Engine Crash in Gallatin County

The accident occurred Saturday on KY 467.

(Gallatin County, Ky.) - A Gallatin County Fire Engine was involved in an accident on Saturday. 

Kentucky State Police responded to the accident on KY 467. 

The preliminary investigation indicated that the Gallatin County Fire Engine involved was responding to a vehicle fire with emergency equipment activated. The fire engine slowed and moved over due to an oncoming vehicle on the one lane road. At that time, the engine dropped one tire off the shoulder of the roadway and over corrected upon returning to the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times. 

As a result, one firefighter was ejected and was airlifted from the scene with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The accident remains under investigation.
