Phone Scam Reported in Dearborn County

Scammers are spoofing the Dearborn County Dispatch phone number.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - A phone scam has been reported in Dearborn County. 

The Dearborn County Sheriff's office has received multiple calls from residents stating that there is a scam going around where people are posing as Dearborn County deputies and using our dispatch number of 812-537-3431.

The scammers are telling people they have a warrant and requesting money to take care of the warrant.

"We do not conduct business this way, so please call the sheriff's office if you have any questions and do not send anyone any money," said the Sheriff's Office in a Facebook post.
