(Laurel, Ind.) - It’s just the latest in a recent string of methamphetamine arrests in southeastern Indiana. Franklin County probation officers conducted administrative home checks throughout the county with the assistance of sheriff’s deputies on Thursday, December 21. One of the homes they went to visit was that of Wilhelmina McDaniel on the 12100 block of Bulltown Road in Laurel. “At the direction of Probation Officers, deputies and an Indiana State Trooper assisted with the check of this residence. Through investigation, officers made several arrests for a multitude of drug related offenses,” according to a sheriff’s department news release. McDaniel, 42, of Laurel, has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (level 6 felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (level 6 felony), Possession of a Syringe (level 6 felony), Possession of a Legend Drug (level 6 felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (level 6 felony), Resisting Law Enforcement (class A misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (class C misdemeanor). Bonny Johnson, 30, of Metamora, and Philip J. Fenker, 43, of Batesville, were also taken to jail. They each face charges of Possession of Methamphetamine (level 6 felony), Visiting a Common Nuisance (class B misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (class C misdemeanor). If convicted of a Level 6 Felony, each could face up to 2 ½ years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
