(Sunman, Ind.) - A Sunman man will do 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a Rape committed in Dearborn County.
Blaze Downey was arrested last May after he assaulted a woman in 2009. He pleaded guilty in September.
The 27-year-old was sentenced Thursday in Dearborn Superior Court II by Judge Sally Blankenship to 30 years in prison, with 10 of those years suspended to probation.
As part of his plea, Downey will also have to register as a violent offender for life following his release from prison.
At the time of his arrest, investigators said Downey attacked a woman in February 2009 and then threatened to kill her if she told police. He was on parole from prison at the time of the attack.
