(Boone County, Ky.) - Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) crews will be working on Interstate 71 in Boone County.

Traffic will be temporary slowed down, and at times, stopped to allow crews to patch potholes on I-71 between the I-71 and I-75 split and the Boone/Gallatin County line.

Work is expected to begin at 10:00 p.m. Thursday until 6:00 a.m. Firday.

Crews are expecting to work first on I-71 southbound. Once that work has been completed, crews will shift to the I-71 northbound lanes.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, and to find an alternate route during these hours to avoid delays.
