(Ohio County, Ind.) – A second suspect has been arrested on robbery charges following a shooting in Ohio County.
Jesse J. Michel was taken into custody on Wednesday by Hamilton County Law Enforcement. He is awaiting extradition to Indiana on a charge of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
Michel is believed to be one of three men who attempted to rob Joseph Louden, 22, of Rising Sun, early Tuesday morning.
Through the investigation, police found that Jesse Michel, Sean Murphy and Marcus Donald were attempting to purchase Percocet from Louden and would eventually pay $6,400.
When the deal fell through, Michel, Murphy and Donald went to Louden’s house in attempt to rob him of the cash, according to Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.
During the altercation, Louden was allegedly beaten and held at gunpoint. Louden eventually grabbed a handgun and shot at the suspects, striking Murphy. Police located Murphy later that day and he was transported to a Cincinnati area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Marcus Donald, 34, was arrested for his involvment earlier this week on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. He is currently held in Dearborn County Jail.
Thanks to the prompt work of the Indiana State Police, Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, Rising Sun Police and Cincinnati Police, everyone involved in this dangerous incident has been identified,” said Deddens. “Charges have been filed against Donald and Michel. Both are incarcerated. We are monitoring the situation as to Murphy, who is still being treated for gunshot wounds.”
Indiana State Police say additional charges and arrests are possible.
