South Dearborn High School Band Earns Wind, Percussion, String Medals

The SDHS band is winning more awards from the ISSMA.

(Aurora, Ind.) - South Dearborn High School band members excelled at the Indiana State School Music Association State Solo and Ensemble for Wind, Percussion and String Instruments.

The Knights amassed 27 gold medals and 10 silver medals at the contest held Saturday, February 23 at North Central High School in Indianapolis, says SDHS band instructor Norbert Reynolds.

Katelyn Brown, Matt Hughes and Brayden Tanner received individual gold medals for solos.

Jacob Teaney, Kevin Brown and Joe Carpenter received a perfect score on their Marimba trio.

The students are qualified for the prestigious gold medal with distinction award.
