STUDY: Batesville Among Safest Small Cities In The State

The study was conducted by AdvisorSmith, a business insurance resource.

(Batesville, Ind.) – The City of Batesville has been ranked among the safest in Indiana.

AdvisorSmith, a business insurance resource, used FBI data to determine the safest large, midsize, and small cities in the state.

Batesville checked in as the 10th safest small city.

Rankings were based on a crime score for each city by calculating the number of violent and property crimes reported. The crimes considered were murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft.

For small cities across the state, the average crime score was 43.

Batesville’s crime score was far below that average at 18.9.

According to the study, the safest small city in the state is Berne. The furniture capital of the state had a crime score of 8.6.
