The change will go into effect on Monday amid moderate to high community spread of COVID-19.

(St. Leon, Ind.) - Sunman Dearborn Community School Corporation Superintendent Andrew Jackson says moderate to high community spread of COVID-19 has affected the school corporation’s ability to conduct traditional school.
This comes as the county’s positivity rate has hovered around 15 percent for the last several weeks.
Beginning Monday, all students in grades 6-12 will begin e-learning. This will continue through Tuesday, November 24th.
Jackson says the timeline will give teachers time to prepare for e-learning and hybrid learning.
All students in grades 6-12 will then switch to hybrid learning on Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 18. Group A will come to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and participate in e-learning on Wednesdays and Fridays and vice versa for Group B.
Both groups will participate in e-learning on Mondays.
Student in K-5 will continue traditional school for the foreseeable future, which is consistent with Indiana State Department of Health recommendations for grade schools when there is moderate to high community spread.
“We have had very few COVID-19 positive students in grades K-5. In addition, when there is a COVID-19 positive student in grades K-5, there are limited close contacts due to cohorting in our elementary schools,” said Jackson in a letter to parents.
Extracurricular activities will be allowed to continue. Spectators and audience members will be significantly limited.
