Teen Bicyclist Killed On US 50

(Cleves, Oh.) - A Cleves teen was killed while riding his bike across U.S. 50 late Friday.

Dakota Reamer, 18, was crossing the busy highway at Mount Nebo Road when he was struck by a car at about 10:00 p.m.

Reamer was taken by aircare to University Hospital in Cincinnati, where he died the following Saturday morning.

It’s not yet clear if the driver of the car, Mearl Smith, 44, of Fairfield, will face charges. He was not hurt in the accident.

Police say Reamer was not wearing any reflective clothing or a helmet at the time of the accident.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies said alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
