(Indianapolis, Ind.) - The new leader of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis has been installed.

Joseph W. Tobin, 60, was selected by the Vatican to become the archdiocese’s new archbishop in October. He was installed Monday during a special mass at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis.

Tobin, who is the sixth leader of the Indianapolis Archdiocese, succeeds Archbishop Daniel Buechlein. Buechlein was granted early retirement last year due to illness.

The Archdiocese covers catholic churches in southeast Indiana.
