(Florence, Ky.) - Construction of the new and improved Turfway Park is scheduled to begin this week.
Churchill Downs acquired Turfway Park from JACK Ohio LLC and Hard Rock International for $46 million in October of 2019. On Friday, the new owners will break ground on a $100 million renovation project, reports Cincinnati Business Courier.
The project will include a historical racing machine facility featuring up to 1,500 machines, state-of-the-art clubhouse, food and beverage venues, new grandstand, and a new inner dirt track to complement the existing one-mile synthetic main racetrack.
Aside from a new facility, Turfway Park has modified their name to Turfway Park Racing and Gaming, according to their Facebook page.
