First of Six SIRC 5K's in the Books Following Lions Pride 5K

(Rushville, Ind.) – The first of six Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit 5K’s took place Saturday in Rushville.

Tyce Xion, 17, of Plover, Wisconsin, was the winner of the Lions Pride 5K with a time of 18:21 (5:55 pace).

Milan’s Ethan DeHamer and Batesville’s Jacob Chatman round out the top three with times of 19:15 and 19:30, respectively.

Versailles native Lanie Nicholson was the top performing female, placing 6th overall with a time of 20:10. Kim Johnston, of College Corner, placed 2nd in the female division, followed by Josie Corn, of Rushville.

The next SIRC event is the Trojan Trot 5K on Saturday, July 13 in St. Leon.

Proceeds from SIRC events support area cross country programs.
