Four Tigers Land on IHSVCA Players to Watch List

Batesville and Oldenburg Academy also have players on the list.

INDIANAPOLIS – Nine high school volleyball stars from southeastern Indiana have been recognized by the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association.

The IHSVCA released Sunday its 2024 Players 2 Watch list.

Head coaches are invited to nominate their players to the list of top players across the state.

Locally, Lawrenceburg and Oldenburg Academy each feature four players on the list, while Batesville has one inclusion. They are:

  • Batesville: Ressa Zimmerman
  • Lawrenceburg: Alex Rummel, Bryleigh Boyd, Natalie Knigga, and Trinity Taylor
  • Oldenburg Academy: Ali Nobbe, Campbell Miles, Lilly Vanderpohl, and Rachel Suttmann

Last season, Lawrenceburg was among the top teams in the state, going 27-6 on their way to capturing the EIAC championship and a sectional title. The Tigers didn’t lose a set in sectional play before falling 3-0 to Barr-Reeve in the regional.

Oldenburg Academy had similar success last season, going 26-8 with a sectional championship win.

Batesville also won over 20 matches last season (24-8).

So far this season, Batesville and Lawrenceburg are off to 2-0 starts, while Oldenburg Academy is currently 1-1.
