INDIANAPOLIS - Some of the top underclass Indiana high school basketball stars have been invited to showcase their skills.
The IBCA and IHSAA will host their annual Underclass Showcase on June 15 and 17.
The top underclass girls will take the floor on June 15 at Ben Davis High School. The boys showcase will follow on June 17 at Brownsburg High School.
Staged by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association with support from the Indiana High School Athletic Association and presented by Ballogy, the Underclass Showcase events are designed to give exposure to approximately 240 of the top basketball prospects from across the state (120 boys, 120 girls) to colleges across the state and nation.
Locally, the Greensburg pair of Aly Powers and Leah West will participate in the Girls' Showcase, which will run from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The Boys' Showcase will feature South Ripley's Cole Henry and Batesville's Cade Kaiser. Both are scheduled to participate in session two between 2:00 and 5:45 p.m.
As a sophomore, Henry led the ORVC in points (19.2) and rebounds (8.8). He was among the most effecient players i teh conference too, shooting 52 percent from the field and 82 percent from the free throw line.
Kaiser also had a standout sophomore season. He was Batesville's second-leading scorer at 13.0 PPG. Kaiser also averaged 6.2 reboundsd, 2.6 assists, and 1.7 steals.
The Showcase events are open to the public. Admission is $5 per person, per day.
