1 Killed, 3 Hurt In Franklin Co. Crash

(Franklin County, Ind.) - A man died and three other people were injured in a crash on State Road 252 in Franklin County over the weekend.

 

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Jared Seale, 22, of Brookville, was driving an Oldsmobile Alero just west of Scipio, Ohio near the Indiana-Ohio state line just before 2:00 a.m. Saturday. Seale’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the road as he was negotiating a right hand curve. The car then struck a tree.

 

A passenger in the car, William Clayton Meyers V, 21, of Laurel, died at the scene.

 

Seale and two passengers – Tyler Phillips, 27, of Brookville, and Chantel Poe, 22, of Fredericksburg – were all taken to Mercy Franciscan Medical Center in Harrison. Phillips was later transferred to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His current condition has not been released.

 

No charges have been filed. Police have not said if alcohol or drugs are considered factors in the crash.

 

The accident is still under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

 

Units assisting at the scene included Franklin County EMS, Franklin County Rescue, Drewersburg Fire Department, and University of Cincinnati Air Care.
