114th Aurora Farmers Fair Begins Wednesday

Enjoy four days of fun at one of Indiana's oldest festivals.

(Aurora, Ind.) – It is Aurora Farmers Fair week!

The 114th Aurora Farmers Fair begins on Wednesday, October 4 and runs through Saturday, October 7.

This year’s theme is “Community First”.

Grand Marshal, Harley of Cochran, embodies the community first theme. The group has built a reputation as a philanthropic organization that often raises money for a number of charities and organizations such as the YES Home, sports teams, scholarships, area Veterans, and more.

Harley of Cochran will lead the annual Farmers Fair Parade on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.

There will be plenty of fun to be had prior to Saturday’s parade.

Festivities kick off on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. with the opening of the Midway. Night one will feature performances from South Ripley Show Choir, Lawrenceburg Tiger Pizazz, East Central Show Choir, South Dearborn Middle School Show Choir, and South Dearborn Opening Knight Show Choir.

The opening night of the Farmers Fair also includes the King and Queen Contest, which begins on Stage 1 at 7:45 p.m. The candidates are:

  • Maegan Galey & Joey Cavanuagh - Lawrenceburg
  • Alexa Fehrman & Joaquim Allen - Milan 
  • Mary Ryan & Thaddeus Eaglin - Oldenburg Academy
  • Alyssa Simpson & Gavin Shorten - Rising Sun
  • Taci Mae Hughes & Adam Kunkel - South Dearborn 
  • Lydia Cornett & Carson Fisk - South Ripley 
  • Morgan Jacuson & Cameron Blasck - Southeastern Career Center
  • Ava Cole & Sam Schroer - Switzerland County

Jessop Amusements will fill the Midway this year. Advance ride tickets can be found at several area businesses at a reduced price (25 for $18). Normal ticket prices are $1 per ticket. On Wednesday only, wristbands can be purchased for $20. Saturday, wristbands will be good from noon to 5:00 p.m. for $30. Other festivities include the War Veterans Presentation, Circle City Sidewalk Stompers, Diaper Derby, Battle of the Border Wrestling, and Pie Eating Contest

The live music lineup features My Brothers Keeper, Jason Crabb, Lacy Lane, Blue Stone Ivory, Crimson Blue, Van Dells, HooDoo Jive, Noah Moses, Steve Brooks & The Bootleggers, Handful of Jokers, New Frontiers (Journey Tribute), and Strutter (KISS Tribute).
