(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Two men have been arrested after jewelry was taken from a Lawrenceburg residence. Lawrenceburg Police responded to a burglary call on the 500 block of Bielby Road on July 24. Police say a necklace and a pair of earrings were missing from the residence. The home owners believed their landscaper, Donald King, 33, to be the culprit. According to a probable cause affidavit, the home owner did not give King permission to enter the residence. However, tape placed on the doors had been pulled off indicating that someone had been in the residence around the same time the jewelry went missing. On July 25th, a pawn shop registry database showed that a pair of earrings were pawned for $30 at Quick Cash Pawn in Greendale. The person pawning the items was identified as Donald's brother, Aaron King. A couple days later, Aaron, 28, made another transaction in Greendale for $165, pawning a single gold earring and two men's Free Mason rings. The owner's were unaware the items were stolen. After returning to work on August 2, the two brothers were brought in for questioning. During questioning, Aaron allegedly admitted to pawning items for his brother on two separate occasions. Court documents show Donald admitted to entering the residence on Bielby Road without permission, in addition to taking some jewelry off the top dresser in the bedroom. After the interviews were completed, Lawernceburg Police traveled to a Cincinnati pawn shop were two other items were pawned for a total of $100. Police say all of the pawned items were positively identified by the owner. Donald King is charged with Burglary (Level 4 felony) and Theft (Level 6 felony). Aaron King is charged with one count of Theft. The two are being held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on $75,000 and $35,000 surety bond, respectively. The King brothers are scheduled for a pre-trial conference on September 29 at 9:30 a.m.
