(Aurora, Ind.) - Aurora officials have announced that as we approach warmer weather, the city is preparing to reopen.
To open services and hold events, the City will need to be able to follow State and Federal guidelines and mandates. Continuing to monitor the situation and the local health care's ability to respond will be a priority.

Sunday, May 24
Once Dearborn County enters Stage 3 of the Governor Holcomb's Back On Track Plan, parks and playgrounds will be open. Park buildings and facilities will be available for lease at a limited capacity. Lease holders must sign a waiver to show awareness of the risks and agree to hold the City harmless.
Monday, June 1
The Aurora Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) will open with capacity restrictions, limited operating hours to allow for deep cleaning, and other preventative measures.
Sunday, June 14
As Dearborn County enters Stage 4 of the Governor’s plan, Aurora will open staff and officials offices to the public. Immediate assistance will be available via appointment when other accommodations are not possible. City residents will continue to be encouraged to use the drop box at the Utility Department and will look to resolve issues or questions over the phone or through email when possible.
Recreational sports leagues and tournaments at City parks will be allowed to resume.
Saturday, July 4
When the County reaches Stage 5, the City of Aurora will host fireworks as close to July 4th as possible with social distancing and other preventative measures in place.
The City Boards and Commissions will begin to reopen meetings to the public, with capacity restrictions. Video and phone conference options will continue to be in place with recordings posted to the City website.
With the risks involved and inability to guarantee guidelines set by the State Department of Health, the Aurora City Pool will not be opening this summer. To take advantage of this time, plans have been made to make improvements so the pool can operate more efficiently and be more appealing for the community to enjoy next summer.
