Auto Parts Supplier To Add 80 Jobs In Gallatin Co.

(Gallatin County, Ky.) – A Gallatin County business is expanding in terms of both facilities and personnel.

Dorman Products Inc., an automotive parts producer, announced Thursday it will invest $6.5 million to add on to its Warsaw facility and add 80 new, full-time jobs. Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear was on hand for the announcement.

“The automotive industry is a thriving part of Kentucky’s economy,” said Beshear. “We are excited to see Dorman grow in Gallatin County, creating 80 new jobs and investing $6.5 million. This is a company with a wide range of automotive products, literally covering all aspects of vehicles from bumper to bumper.”

Dorman already employs 300 people in Gallatin County. The new employees will help the company meet growth in its sales.

“We are excited with the opportunity to expand our operation in Warsaw and to offer additional employment opportunities in that community,” said Steven Berman, chairman of the board and CEO of Dorman Products. “We have every confidence in our contributors to meet the challenges of growing our business.”

State and local tax incentives have been offered to Dorman. The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved the company for performance-based tax incentives up to $1 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program.

Warsaw mayor Charles French said the city is excited at the prospects the Dorman Products expansion.

“The company’s investment and creation of new jobs will produce a positive economic impact on the city of Warsaw and Gallatin County,” said the mayor.

The governor’s office said Kentucky is home to nearly 450 motor vehicle-related facilities which employ nearly 80,000 people combined.
