(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Today, Garrett Bascom, a Dearborn County attorney and community leader, announced his campaign for Indiana State House to replace outgoing State Representative Randy Lyness. Bascom is well connected in the 68th District, serving as Secretary of the Dearborn County GOP and formerly the 9th Congressional District Young Republican Chair.

Bascom is an attorney who has served in the Indiana Attorney General’s Office and as Deputy Prosecutor for Dearborn-Ohio County before launching his own private practice in 2023. Garrett has already secured several grassroots endorsements from local leaders:

  • Allen Goodman - Dearborn County Commissioner
  • Rick Probst - Dearborn County Commissioner
  • Jim Thatcher -  Dearborn County Commissioner
  • Liz Morris – President, Dearborn County Council
  • Tim Doll – Vice President, Dearborn County Council
  • Dave Lusby – Former Dearborn County Sheriff

“After much prayer and consideration, I am excited to announce our campaign for State Representative,” said Garrett Bascom. “I am thankful for Randy’s service to our community, and I will continue to be a conservative advocate for the 68th District in Indianapolis. I will lead the charge fighting for safer streets, better schools, and our traditional Hoosier values.”

“I will bring a bold conservative voice to Indianapolis that will stand up to the woke agenda that serves to undermine our values. I am honored to be in a position to serve, and I look forward to being a leader our community can count on.”
