Batesville Man Claims $50,000 Powerball Win

By Travis Thayer (Batesville, Ind.) – A man has claimed a $50,000 lottery prize from a ticket purchased in Batesville. Last week’s Powerball jackpot was an enormous $1.5 billion with jackpot numbers in California, Tennessee, and Florida. The winning numbers for January 13 were 8, 27, 34, 4, 19 and the Powerball of 10. There were 16 Powerball tickets worth $50,000 sold in Indiana for that drawing. They each matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball. One of the $50,000 tickets was purchased by Anthony Casablanca at Hucks Food & Fuel located at 568 E. Pearl Street in Batesville. Casablanca, a Batesville resident, claimed the prize on January 15. A $1 million winning ticket, made by matching five numbers, was purchased in Terre Haute. Hoosier Lottery officials say the January 13 drawing produced a total of 421,182 winning tickets in Indiana worth $4,095,118 collectively.
