(Batesville, Ind.) - Four Batesville High School and Ivy Tech students have committed to pursue their technical careers with Batesville Tool & Die for the remainder of the school year.
Batesville Tool & Die held a special signing ceremony on August 30 for juniors Mason Jones and Carter Wehr and seniors Mason Mosey and Josh Bischoff.
All four students have committed to work with BTD professionals in all areas of the manufacturing technical fields.
Toby Walsman, BTD Program Coordinator, tells Eagle Country 99.3 that each student will be placed for two weeks in eight different technical fields that will introduce them to what it takes to be successful in those areas. After the 16-week rotation, each student will have a personal discussion with Walsman about which area they would like to focus on for the rest of the school year to get a real hands on feel for that trade of interest.
“We here at BTD are very excited to be teaming up with BHS and Ivy Tech for this Co-op program with their students. This is a great opportunity for the students to get to know why America started with Manufacturing and for our company to educate young adults with an understanding that, in fact, Manufacturing is a great way of life and a great way to make a living,” said Walsman.
