City Of Lawrenceburg Seeking Public Input For New Comprehensive Plan

An online community workshop is live now through April 12.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The City of Lawrenceburg is updating its Comprehensive Plan, and input from the community is needed.

An online community workshop is live now through April 12 at www.PlanLawrenceburg.com.

The new Comprehensive Plan will identify a community-driven vision and address core community issues and opportunities related to land use, infrastructure, utilities, quality of life, and economic development.

Some of the key questions the City is trying to answer include:

  • What’s your vision for the future?
  • What is Lawrenceburg doing well?
  • What does Lawrenceburg need to improve?
  • How can Lawrenceburg activate its riverfront?

The project launched this month and is anticipated to be completed over a nine-month timeframe.

Following the online workshop, a community survey is scheduled for early May to take a deeper dive into the unique opportunities and challenges of downtown, U.S. 50 corridor, and the hillside.

A second community workshop will take place in mid-June, then the public review of the draft plan is expected by mid-July.

The City of Lawrenceburg has partnered with HWC Engineering to facilitate the planning process. The organization has a vast amount of experience in completing comprehensive plans across Indiana.

A steering committee has also been put together to guide the development of the plan. The committee includes Mayor Kelly Mollaun, City Council, Plan Commission, City Staff, Main Street, Ivy Tech, Lawrenceburg Schools, Redevelopment, One Dearborn, and local businesses.

When completed, this Comprehensive Plan will guide the growth and development of Lawrenceburg for the next 10-20 years.
