Closure Planned on State Road 262 in Ohio County

The closure will take place between Downey Ridge Road and Stephenson Road.

(Ohio Co.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara Contractors is scheduled to close State Road 262 over a tributary to Mud Lick Creek on Monday, April 7, to complete a small structure replacement project in Ohio County.

The closure will take place between Downey Ridge Road and Stephenson Road approximately 5.4 miles south of U.S. 50 and is expected to be complete in early June, weather permitting.

Signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of construction. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour which follows U.S. 50 to S.R. 56.

This work is part of a $1.4 million contract awarded to Dave O'Mara in November 2024.
