(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Dearborn County Commissioners took a minute from running through their meeting agenda Tuesday to recognize a local youngster who has been running throughout Indiana.
Thirteen-year-old Madison Rahschulte completed her 92 County Challenge in June. Her quest was to run at least one 5K footrace in every county in the state. The feat took she and her family from Bright about four years to accomplish.
On Tuesday, the county commissioners signed a proclamation and gave it to Madison. It states that she is believed to be the first person to run an organized race in all 92 counties.
“Whereas, Madison Rahschulte’s continued excellence in the athletic discipline of running is a testament to her work ethic and dedication,” the proclamation reads.
Madison is an 8th grade student at St. Lawrence School in Lawrenceburg.
