INDIANAPOLIS - Dearborn County Councilmember, Elizabeth Morris was elected District President of the Association of Indiana Counties’ (AIC) Southeast District during the annual meeting in Switzerland County last month.
“It is a great honor to be entrusted to serve fellow county officials as president of AIC's Southeast District,” said Morris. “I will strive to always represent the interests of our counties at the state level and look forward to working with AIC to this end.”
As District President, Morris represents the elected county officials in the Southeast District of the state, which includes the following counties: Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Dearborn, Decatur, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, Switzerland, and Washington. There are six districts in the state. Morris serves on the AIC’s Board of Directors, which determines policies and legislative goals for the Association.
Switzerland County Clerk, Gayle Sullivan was elected District Vice President during the meeting as well. The meeting also included a synopsis of the 2023 Indiana Legislative Session by AIC legislative staff.
