(Cincinnati, Oh.) - A Dearborn County resident and Cincinnati radio legend is preparing to call it a career. 700 WLW’s Jim Scott announced on his show Tuesday morning that he will host his last morning show on Friday, April 3. “After 47 years of broadcasting here in Cincinnati starting with 1360 WSAI playing rock and roll and now here, it’s time to start saying goodbye,” Scott told his listeners. Though he works on a competing station, Scott has been a friend and listener of Eagle 99.3. He lives outside of Lawrenceburg and is frequently seen at local events or just out doing his grocery shopping at Kroger. “It’s a bittersweet day. I love being on the radio. It’s an intimate medium. It’s just you and me,” said Scott, who frequently brags on Dearborn County people, places, and happenings on his show. Scott won a prestigious Marconi Award for Large Market Radio Personality of the Year from the National Association of Broadcasters in 2002. He also gave the acceptance speech when WLW was awarded the 2014 Marconi Award for News/Talk Station of the Year at the NAB expo in Indianapolis last summer. Scott said he’ll plan to walk in the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade before the Cincinnati Reds’ 2015 season opener.
