Delta Adding Flights At CVG In 2012

(Hebron, Ky.) – In recent years, the talk has been about flights being subtracted from the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport.

 

But, Delta Air Lines announced Tuesday it will actually add flights in 2012 in response to requests from local businesses.

 

Delta will have two new daily flights to Atlanta and Detroit beginning in March.

 

The carrier will also introduce a round-trip, same plane service via Salt Lake City to Portland, Oregon. That flight will provide a convenient connection to Oakland, California, the airport said.

 

“These schedule changes are another indicator that Delta is being responsive to local concerns and working with businesses committed to the Cincinnati area to continue to provide strong air service for our region,” a statement from the airport said.

 

CVG has seen its roster of flights scaled back significantly over the past several years, largely due to Delta’s scaling back at the airport. The airport bragged nonstop service to 130 U.S. cities in 2005, but currently offers such service to 50 cities, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
