Deputies: Burglar Caught After Claiming He Was A Victim, Too

Three homes on Poorhouse Hill Road in Ohio County were burglarized on May 31.

(Ohio County, Ind.) – Ohio County Sheriff’s investigators have solved the cases of three home burglaries.

Three residences on the 7000 block of Poorhouse Hill Road were reportedly burglarized on Thursday, May 31. Items taken included three chainsaws, a miter saw, and a gasoline can.

According to investigators, during the investigation Carl Frazier, 35, of Rising Sun, had reported a weed eater had been stolen from his residence. The claim, deputies say, was a guise in order to cover up his own involvement in the other burglaries.

Frazier was arrested on Friday, June 8. He is held in the Dearborn County jail charged with two counts of Theft (level 6 felony) and single counts of Burglary of a Dwelling (level 4 felony), Burglary (level 5 felony), and False Informing (class B misdemeanor).

The Ohio County Sheriff's Office would like to remind the public that the fact that a person has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
